Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Overview
Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The role involves performing interventional radiology procedures using Siemens imaging equipment. The position follows normal business hours with a rotating day off and includes call requirements.
Schedule
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday with a rotating day off
- Call Requirements:
- One primary weekday call and one backup weekday call per month
- One weekend call every 6 weeks (alternating primary or backup)
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in interventional radiology
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Skills: Proficient in Siemens imaging equipment
- Preferred: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
Key Responsibilities
- Perform interventional radiology procedures
- Operate Siemens imaging equipment effectively
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC (preferred)
Compliance & Credentialing Requirements
Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if driving is required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required prior to start, with specific Ohio codes and timelines
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- Transcript or diploma verification required (including for foreign education)
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
Certifications
- ACLS and BLS certifications must be current and AHA-approved (Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
- State license verification within 30 days of start
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification, EKG competency exam)
Competency Exams
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (not applicable for this technologist role but relevant if cross-trained)
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended but not required
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Compliance with facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fraud/waste/abuse training, and ethics policies
