Emergency Room Nurse Opportunity

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required (at least one completed contract assignment)
  • High volume/fast pace ED experience preferred

• Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Licensure & Certifications:

  • New Jersey Nursing License or Compact License
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Note: Pending certifications or those expiring within 30 days of submission are NOT accepted

Schedule & Work Details

• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend or 3 per month, depending on unit needs
• Holidays: None required
• Return to Office (RTO): No more than 3 days accepted
• No block scheduling or special shift requests allowed

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation is mandatory and must be completed fully; failure to do so results in immediate termination
• Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream modules to be completed by Monday of start week
• In-person classes typically held Tuesday through Thursday at various locations (location details provided via HealthStream)
• Additional required class (POCT) scheduled outside orientation week
• Unit-based orientation schedule provided by manager
• Badge ID appointment must be completed in person during orientation (photo submissions not accepted); badge required for clock-ins

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Must comply with background checks, drug screening, employment and educational verifications
• Required vaccinations and health attestations including COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B, MMR, TdaP, Varicella
• Competency exams and skills checklists required
• Compliance with various screenings and registries (e.g., FACIS 3M, National Sex Offender Registry, NJ Debarment, OIG, SAM Sanction, OFAC Sanction)

• 8 weeks (interpreted from contract_length value)
