Job Opportunity: Special Procedures Tech (Interventional Radiology Tech)
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech
- Shift: Days, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5 x 8 hour shifts)
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
- Call Requirements: One to two weekends per month plus 4-6 weekdays per month
- Number of Openings: 4
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: ARRT (R) certification required
- Certifications: BLS from American Heart Association only
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant Interventional Radiology experience (highest required years of experience)
- Preferred Certifications: Advanced registry such as CI, VI, or RCIS preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and invasive procedures across various anatomy and pathology
- Support care team during procedures, including scrub assistance and recording images
- Operate oxygen, suction, blood pressure, and other essential patient care equipment properly
- Administer contrast materials correctly and review medication reconciliation for contraindications
- Consistently operate special procedures imaging equipment following radiation safety practices
- Observe patients before, during, and after procedures; use appropriate immobilization and transfer devices
- Other duties as assigned

- Department: International Radiology
- Beds: Four Interventional Radiology Suites
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 procedural ratio
- Equipment: Siemens imaging systems
- EMR System: EPIC Radiant
- Patient Types: Oncology, Dialysis, Neurology, Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Green surgical scrubs provided daily; must remain within the facility
- Unacceptable attire includes torn clothes, open-toed shoes, and not wearing scrubs
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (declinations not accepted)
- Float requirements as needed by the facility
