Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), totaling 36 hours per week
- No Return to Office (RTO): From 2/15/26 through 2/28/26
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) or AWHONN (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
- Skills Required:
- IV start
- L&D experience
- EPIC electronic health record experience
- Additional Requirements:
- May be required to float to other units
- Previous travel experience preferred
Compliance & Credentialing Requirements
Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide search, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if driving is required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific Ohio codes for processing
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification from accredited nursing programs (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, CASN)
- Transcript or diploma verification required
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, PALS (if applicable), NRP, and EFM certifications must be current and valid
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
- State nursing license verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required for RNs
- NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit
- Tech certification verification for applicable roles within 30 days of start
Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for all RNs (with remediation process if failed)
Facility-Specific Policies & Documents
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting training and acknowledgment required
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and signed annually for new contracts
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers)
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemptions reviewed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or formal leadership
- Employment application and skills checklist required for all candidates
- Proof of fingerprint completion required for subcontractors
This position is ideal for experienced L&D RNs with strong clinical skills, EPIC experience, and the ability to adapt to floating assignments in a fast-paced hospital environment.
