Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Deliver high-quality care to adolescent and adult females, as well as neonates.

Required Credentials and Certifications

Licenses & Certifications

  • Registered Nurse License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start (BON & NURSYS for RNs).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required prior to start (AHA or ARC accepted).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): Required prior to start.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required prior to start.
  • AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification: Required prior to start.

Education Verification

  • Highest level of education must be verified through a third party or combined with diploma/transcripts if verification is unavailable.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (THC not required). Instant accepted if lab results are pending.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Required; declination accepted.
  • MMR: Two vaccines or positive titer; if low/equivocal, one booster or declination accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: Two vaccines or positive titer; if low/equivocal, one booster or declination accepted.
  • Varicella: Two vaccines or positive titer; if low/equivocal, one booster or declination accepted.
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; declination accepted.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required annually by December 1 (Sept 1 – March 31 season); vaccine or facility declination accepted.
  • TB Test: Negative test within the past year (TSPOT or QuantiFERON IGG). If history of positive TB, must provide documentation including chest x-ray and questionnaire.
  • Fit Test: Completed prior to start with approved respirators (e.g., Moldex 1510, 3M 1860s).
  • Health Statement: Physician statement within the last 12 months.

Additional Requirements

  • Skills Checklist: Must be completed within the last 12 months (does not expire).
  • Background Check: Within 30 days of start, including SS trace, county searches (last 7 years), nationwide, and sex offender registry. Must be renewed after any break in service.
  • Adult and Child Abuse Clearance: State requirement.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG Check: Within 30 days of start.
  • References: Two professional references required, including one supervisor reference.
  • Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
  • I-9 Attestation: Completed on agency letterhead.
  • Driver’s License/State ID: Unexpired government-issued photo ID required.
  • OSHA Questionnaire: Candidate must complete prior to start.
  • Other Screening Checks: SING, NSO, OFAC, and Evergreen Link attestations required within 30 days of start or 48 hours of offer acceptance for system access.

This position requires a highly qualified RN with specialized certifications in labor and delivery, neonatal care, and fetal monitoring, along with comprehensive health screenings and background verifications to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
