Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Therapist

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and breathing treatments.
• Perform Bedside Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT), Bedside Bronchoscopies, and Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs).
• Work across multiple units: Emergency Department (ED), Medical-Surgical (MS), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Ambulatory, and Stepdown units.
• Care for neonates, adults, and pediatric patients in the ED.
• Experience in critical care, nursery, medical surgical, and stepdown units is required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): ARC or AHA accepted.
• BLS (Basic Life Support): ARC or AHA accepted.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): ARC or AHA accepted.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): As required.
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ICU, IMC/IMCU, inpatient, Med Surg, and Step Down RN positions; must be renewed annually.
• Tech Certification Verification: As applicable based on licensure requirements.

Background Checks

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
• Must include Social Security Trace, County searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled in the last 7 years, Nationwide search, and Sex Offender registry.
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required (agency to run for subcontractors).

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable).
• Color Blind Testing (required for dialysis/kidney center roles).
• Competency Exam (as applicable to profession/specialty).

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no filters).
• Compliance checklist to be completed by agency representative.
• Confidentiality statement to be signed prior to start.
• Flu vaccine religious or medical exemption forms if applicable.
• Dosimeter request form (only for Imaging Department, not required for MRI Tech).

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually for non-clinical).
• Negative QGold TB test within 1 year of start (Chest X-Ray within 60 days if applicable).
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 14 days before start (instant acceptable).
• Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (October to March).

History and References

• Two professional references verified within 2 years of start.
• For inpatient RNs (MS, MS/TELE, IMC, Stepdown, ICU), one reference must be from the most recent acute care assignment with performance comments.
• Skills checklist required annually.
