Travel RN ICU Position - Waco, Texas
Job Details
- Specialty: RN ICU
- Location: Waco, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit Description:
- Conglomerate ICU unit including medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients.
- Ability to float between ICU and step-down critical care service lines is required.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years ICU experience.
Important Notes
- Flu season runs from October 1, 2024, through March 31, 2025.
- Flu vaccine exemptions/declinations are accepted, but mask-wearing is mandatory during flu season.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Current RN license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (passing score required, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; updated yearly)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score required)
- Ascension Epic Test-Out (required)
Required Health & Immunization Documentation
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required annually during flu season (mask required if declined)
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Positive PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
- Fit Test: Annual, preferred prior to start (specific mask types required in some states)
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, updated annually)
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others (updated annually)
- EPLS check within 90 days of start
- Education Verification within 90 days prior to start
- Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and valid)
- Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
- Two professional references prior to first assignment
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation
