NICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Urbana, Illinois

Job Description

Perform all nursing responsibilities specific to the NICU unit and scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to neonatal care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care through continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback.
Support professional development of peers and pursue own learning needs proactively.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
Monitor intake and output of neonatal patients.
Assist mothers with breastfeeding initiation and provide baby-friendly care.
Administer medications using proper barcode scanning procedures.
Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds and report on patient assignments.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant nursing experience in NICU or similar setting.

Education Requirements

Required: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing)
Preferred: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Certifications & Licensure

Illinois State RN License in good standing
BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - American Heart Association
