Travel RN Opportunity – Operating Room (OR)

Location: Marquette, Michigan (Upper Peninsula)

Facility & Unit Overview

• 225-bed specialty care hospital
• Level 2 Trauma Center (receives Level 1 patients)
• Services include Heart & Vascular, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women’s Health, Pediatrics
• Premier imaging, surgery, and laboratory services in the region
• Unit: Operating Room with 12 ORs
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
• Patient Population: Primarily geriatrics and adults; pediatrics rarely

Position Details

• Role: RN – Operating Room
• Shifts: 10- and 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 9:00 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours
• Call Requirements:

  • One or two weekends every 6 weeks (12-hour call blocks, 2 teams on call during weekends)
  • One weeknight every other week
  • 30-minute response time required
• Orientation: Bi-weekly
• Float Requirements: None
• Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Registered Nurse License required
• Preferred: ACLS certification

Skills & Experience Requirements

• Must Have:

  • General OR experience
  • Urology, Gynecology (GYN)
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedics (total joints, sports medicine, trauma, podiatry)
  • Basic ENT and vascular procedures
  • Robotic surgery experience
• Preferred:

  • Cardiovascular (CV)
  • C-section
  • Trauma
  • Basic plastics

Additional Notes

• Local candidates must live 60 miles or more away to qualify as travel
• Housing: Early planning recommended due to limited availability
• Weekend and holiday call required but limited to no more than one holiday call per 13-week contract
