Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Voorhees, New Jersey
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility Overview

  • Level III high risk facility
  • May float to High Risk OB unit (16 rooms; early inductions, antepartum, continuous monitoring)
  • Possible floating to up to two nearby lower-volume hospitals (floating uncommon for L&D RNs)
  • Block scheduling considered but not guaranteed
  • Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH) scheduling

Requirements

  • 2.5 to 3 years of nursing experience
  • Active New Jersey RN license
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (AHA or ARC only)
    • BLS (AHA or ARC only)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Must pass Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing contract (only 2 attempts allowed; must be taken on a PC, not iOS devices)
  • Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at time of submission (no late submissions accepted)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EPIC charting system
  • First-time travelers accepted

Job Details

  • Scrubs provided by hospital
  • Floating assignments will be within scope of practice
  • Dysrhythmia test required for multiple units including ED, ICU, L&D, PACU, Cath Lab, Oncology, Dialysis, and others

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history, updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of contract start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing within 1 year of start
  • Facility-specific documents including badge photo and non-employee access forms
  • Physical exam within last 12 months
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (required before first shift)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific protocols for positive responders)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or declination accepted)
    • Varicella
  • 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start (updated annually)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31
  • Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better)
  • Latex questionnaire
  • Two professional references within last 2 years
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
  • Work history verification (minimum 1 year prior to start date, allowing 30-day gaps or less)

Important Notes

  • Dysrhythmia test failure or failure to complete within 72 hours results in contract cancellation and denial of rehire at the hospital system
  • Dysrhythmia test must be taken on a PC, not on iOS devices
  • Floating assignments for L&D nurses are rare and always within scope of practice
  • No local rate available for this position
