Registered Nurse (CICU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Greenwood, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
  • First-time travelers accepted: Yes
  • Weekend shifts required: Yes
  • Work setting: CICU with requirement to float as needed
  • Preferred charting system: EPIC
  • Local radius rule: 50 miles

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required for all travelers
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for CICU and ICU settings
  • NIH Stroke Certification - Required for ICU and CICU
  • Other certifications (may be required depending on unit):
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - for ER, PACU
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - for Labor & Delivery
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - for ER
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - for Labor & Delivery
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or equivalent - for ER

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable
  • Must be able to float to other units if needed

Licensure & Verification

  • State nursing license with primary source verification required
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references within the past year
  • Performance evaluations if applicable (collected by internal team)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination possible with approval)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine (dose 1 and fully vaccinated status) required or approved medical/religious exemption
  • COVID-19 booster preferred but not required

Documentation & Onboarding

  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during shifts
  • Proof of Social Security Number or card required
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
  • Photo for badge required
  • Completion of onboarding modules prior to orientation required

Additional Notes

  • Travelers must comply with facility-specific onboarding and compliance checklists
  • Instant background and drug screens acceptable if final results pending before start date
  • Facility may require additional documentation or forms for vaccine declinations or exemptions

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized cardiac ICU setting with night shifts and weekend requirements, suitable for nurses with at least one year of experience and required critical care certifications.
