Description
Job Opportunity: Inpatient Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation
Facility Type: Hospital-based inpatient rehab unit
Unit Beds: 28 staffed beds
Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month
On-call: No
Floating: No floating required
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required
- License: South Carolina or Multi-State Compact Physical Therapist License required at contract start
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required (AHA or ARC only)
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- Local Radius: 60 miles (locals not accepted)
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Certifications & Training Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all clinical staff (AHA or ARC only)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only, as per unit requirements
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): As required, AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Must be through AHA/AAP only
- Other Certifications: May include TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, IV Therapy (for select LPNs), and Tech Cert Verification depending on role
- Certification Validity: No certifications expiring within 30 days of start date accepted; renewals or scheduled courses required prior to start
Background & Verification
- Background Check: Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, statewide, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches
- Education Verification: Not required for this facility; diploma or transcripts may be accepted as placeholders if needed
- State-Specific Search: South Carolina Medicaid Excluded Providers check required for sub-vendors
- Licensure Verification: Primary source verification required; all licensure hits must be approved by facility
- Work History Verification: Not required for this facility
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Initial and annual physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
- TB Testing: 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 90 days of contract start (T-spot not permitted); if positive, chest X-ray required
- Vaccinations:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination form
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted, declinations not accepted
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Highly preferred but not required; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; no instant tests accepted
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required for respirator use (facility-specific process)
Facility-Specific Documents & Orientation
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with solid light background required
- Acknowledgments & Agreements: Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Assignment Acknowledgment, Systems User Agreement, User Access Request, Job Description review and signing required prior to start
- Orientation Modules: Must be completed prior to orientation; estimated 4 hours for Florence campus
- COVID-19 & Flu Documentation: Must be uploaded into facility system prior to start
- Religious Exemption: Facility-specific COVID exemption form available for religious reasons
Additional Notes
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
- Performance Evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units
- Radiation Badge: Required only for specific departments (OR, Cath Lab, EP Lab, Radiology); not required for Ultrasound Techs or Mammography Techs
