Job Description
- Position: Mammography Technologist
- Shift: First shift with rotating hours between 08:00-16:30, 08:30-17:00, and 09:30-18:00
- Holiday weeks: 4 days of 10-hour shifts
- Occasional Saturdays required
- Mobile work hours variable between 06:30-19:00
- Primary work location: Breast Center with possible support at a satellite location
- Work involves screening and diagnostic mammography at Breast Center; satellite location work is screening only
- No biopsy procedures required
Required Experience & Skills
- Mammography procedures:
- Screening mammography
- Diagnostic mammography
- Digital mammography
- 3-D mammography
- Work setting experience: Outpatient
- Patient ratio: 10-15 patients
Certifications & Licenses Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- ARRT Advanced Certification
- Ohio Department of Health license (required)
- Digital Hologic (Tomo) knowledge preferred
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including:
- Social Security trace
- Counties lived/worked
- Nationwide search
- Sex offender registry
- Motor Vehicle Record (if driving required)
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific Ohio codes for fingerprinting
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring required
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- Transcript or diploma verification required (including for foreign education)
- Background acknowledgement form and dress code/hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test renewal
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption requires documentation
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declining) during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leader)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Unit-specific competency exams may be required
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual, ethics, and compliance policies
- Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
