Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Weston, West Virginia
Facility Type: 70-bed rural hospital
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)
- Shift: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (07:00 PM - 07:00 AM)
- Schedule: Weekdays, every other weekend
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Possible Extension: Yes
- Float Requirements: May float to ER and ICU as needed
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Unit Description: Acute care/telemetry with occasional pediatric/adolescent patients; LPNs assist on night shift; RN may be floated to other units including ICU
- EMR System: Cerner
- Scrubs: Not provided; color required is Burgundy
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years acute care experience
- Certifications:
- BCLS (Basic Life Support) - required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required
- Preferred Certifications:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Skills Required:
- Telemetry
- Preferred Skills:
- Pediatrics
- Charge nurse experience
- Travel Experience: Not required
- Blocked Schedule: Must be requested upfront and will be discussed during interview
Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care on a telemetry unit with acute care patients
- Float to other units including ICU and ER as needed
- Collaborate with LPNs on night shift
- Support from House Supervisor available 24/7
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Proof of RN license verification (recently pulled)
- Minimum 2 clinical/manager references within past 2 years
- Candidate profile including work history and specialty skills checklist
- COVID vaccine status documentation
- Background checks including 7-year criminal check, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Health documents including:
- Physical exam (initial and annual)
- Immunizations and titers (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Drug testing (10 panel within 30 days and annually)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccination or declination
- Facility-specific documents such as badge photo, drug screen consent, non-disclosure agreements, parking pass, and care learning modules
- Competency exams and color blind testing as applicable
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
Additional Notes
- Care Learning Modules must be completed prior to start date
- Cerner EMR training modules are expected to be completed before orientation
- ReadySet surveys and other health assessments may be required depending on facility policies
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with telemetry and acute care in a rural hospital setting, with flexibility to float to ICU and ER units.
