Registered Nurse (Oncology) - Travel/Contract
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Specialty: Registered Nurse - Oncology (Endocrine Clinic)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Patient Diagnoses You Will Encounter
- Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
- Chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML)
- Hemoglobinopathies
- Hodgkin's disease
- Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
- Myeloproliferative disease
- Thrombotic disorders
- Aplastic anemia
- Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)
- Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
- Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) preferred
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and MVR if driving is required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
- Transcript or diploma verification required
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, documenting good health and free of contagious disease
- Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination accepted)
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Competency and Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RN/LVN candidates prior to start)
- Unit-specific competency exam required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
- Remediation process in place for failed EKG exam attempts
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
- Employment application required (including education for nursing candidates)
- Skills checklist required
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- License verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required for RNs
Facility-Specific Policies
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting training and acknowledgment required
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Proof of fingerprint completion required (physical receipt or photo of fingerprint cards)
