Job Description

• Work primarily on the Trauma Surgical Unit caring for acute care trauma and surgical patients.
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Unit also cares for orthopedic and urology patients.
• Interdisciplinary team approach involving family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists.
• Provide individualized care for patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, or observation.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Required to work holidays as needed and every other weekend.

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross CPR
• Licenses: Registered Nurse license for the State of Alabama or Compact license (Temporary licenses not accepted)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years nursing experience; will consider 18 months if working under highest professional license with at least 1 year in specialty field.
