Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
  • Shift: 06:45 AM - 05:15 PM with liver transplant on-call
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Start Date: Next orientation available in 3-4 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours:
    • 36 hours for 3x12-hour shifts
    • 40 hours for 8 or 10-hour shifts

Experience & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct Liver/Transplant OR RN experience required
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Required Skills:
    • Strong experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplants (must be reflected on skills checklist)
    • Proficient in Misonix/CUSA
    • Experience with organ implantation (not just harvesting)
  • Certifications Required at Time of Submission:
    • ACLS (AHA only)
    • BLS (AHA only)
  • Certification Required Before Start:
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • On-Call Requirement:
    • 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, locals receive same rate
  • Pending License Accepted: Yes
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: All RTO must be disclosed upfront

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Fingerprinting:
    • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 6 months of start
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
    • Required vaccinations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine test within 1 year
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
    • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
  • References:
    • Two professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually and reflect transplant experience
  • Pass/Fail Testing: EKG and medication/pharmacology testing during orientation (2 attempts allowed)
  • Online Modules: Must be completed by due date prior to start (access provided after contract signing)
  • Other Required Documents:
    • I9 or attestation
    • Government-issued photo ID
    • E-Verify proof or attestation
    • Employment application
    • Acknowledgement of safety manual and pass/fail testing

Additional Notes

  • Time-sensitive onboarding modules must be prioritized and completed before starting assignment
  • Candidates must carry photo ID during working hours
  • Facility issues radiation badges if applicable
  • Candidates with prior breaks greater than 6 months between Cleveland Clinic facilities will require re-orientation and module completion
