Position Overview

• Role: Cath Lab Technician (Scrub Technologist specializing in Cath Lab)
• Start Date: Next applicable orientation date (3-4 weeks out)
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months in specialty; 2 years preferred
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: To be discussed with manager
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs; will float to 3 sister hospitals within 20 miles
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals Accepted: Yes, locals receive same rate
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours for 12-hour shifts; 40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts

Certifications & Licenses

• Certified or Registered Cardiovascular Tech (RCVT) preferred
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) also preferred
• AHA ACLS and BLS required (AHA provider card or RQI acceptable; instructor card not accepted)
• National Certification verification required within 30 days of start
• State License verification required within 30 days of start (FL Radiographer license required for related techs)
• Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemo, EFM) depending on unit

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated with renewals
• Fingerprinting:

  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
  • Clearance must be on file before starting; processing can take up to 10 business days or longer if prior hits
• Drug Testing:

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine within 1 year of start (no annual update required)
  • Florida Medical Marijuana card not accepted
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
  • Immunizations: Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (vaccines, titers, or declinations as applicable)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine required annually (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
• References:

  • Two professional references within 2 years required for travel and acute care positions
• Employment Application and Performance Evaluations as applicable

Orientation & Training

• Online Training Modules must be completed by due date prior to start (access provided after contract signing)
• Modules include COVID documentation submission and other facility-specific training
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
• Time-sensitive modules must be prioritized immediately upon assignment confirmation
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for RNs/LPNs during orientation (not applicable for this tech role)

Additional Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely will not be approved
• Floating to sister facilities within 20 miles is required
• Facility issues radiation badges to applicable candidates
• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
