Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technician

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule & Requirements

• 40 hours per week
• On-call as needed by department
• Weekend and holiday work as required (holidays during regularly scheduled shifts)

Required Credentials & Certifications

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
• Current professional license with verification within 30 days prior to start
• Signed Assignment Agreement (offer letter, confirmation, and extensions)
• Driver’s License/State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)

Health & Safety Requirements

• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Fit Test: Required annually; preferred before start, can be done onsite
• TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes; positive results require chest X-ray and questionnaire
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; retesting required if break in service > 90 days

Onboarding & Compliance

• Ascension Resume/Profile and 2 professional references required prior to submission
• Criminal Background Check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, and national sex offender registry within 30 days of assignment
• Employment and education verifications required, updated annually or after breaks in service > 90 days
• Completion of Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% score, updated yearly
• Ascension Skills Checklist for clinical competency, updated annually
• Ascension Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation required at start and with each extension

Additional Notes

• Some onboarding forms and attestations are completed onsite
• Positive PPD requires annual TB questionnaire updates
• Background checks and verifications must be rerun if there is a break in service longer than 90 days

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Technicians who meet the credentialing and health requirements and are comfortable with a flexible schedule including on-call, weekends, and holidays.
