Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
- Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment type and frequency.
- Develop, implement, and monitor patient care plans and respiratory equipment.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions.
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
- Evaluate respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatments based on patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and available community support programs.
- Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.
Required Credentials & Certifications
- Current Respiratory Therapist license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA required).
- Driver’s License or State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements).
- Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references.
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings.
- Employment verification for the past seven years.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work.
- Signed assignment agreement and onboarding attestations as required.
Health & Safety Requirements
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferably completed prior to start.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted.
- Tuberculosis Screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire; if positive, chest X-ray required within one year.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; includes testing for 12 specified substances.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, OSHA topics with a minimum 80% score.
- Completion of skills checklist for respiratory therapy within one year of start, updated annually.
- Various onboarding documents and attestations specific to respiratory therapy contract workers.
