Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Position

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation


Facility & Unit Overview

  • Inpatient rehabilitation hospital specializing in recovery from strokes, brain/spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions
  • Low stimulation, secured unit with monitored rooms, specialized beds, patient lifts, dedicated therapy gym and dining area
  • Therapy gym includes high-tech devices such as InMotion Robotic Arm and therapy car for relearning vehicle transfers
  • Special apartments for practicing daily living tasks
  • Private, family-friendly rooms with sleeper chairs
  • Outdoor healing garden and walking trail

Position Details

  • Role: Occupational Therapist (Rehabilitation OT)
  • Department: Utilization Review
  • Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
  • Weekend Requirement: One Saturday per month (with a weekday off swapped)
  • Patient Load: 5-7 patients per therapist
  • Number of Beds in Unit: 66
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: UDS
  • Patient Population: General adult rehab patients
  • Common Diagnoses: CVA (stroke), SCI (spinal cord injury), TBI (traumatic brain injury), Orthopedic conditions
  • Duties: Performing activities of daily living (ADLs) for patients with various diagnoses and functional levels
  • Must be comfortable working in an acute rehab setting

Requirements

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist licensed to practice in Oklahoma
  • Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Skills:
    • Basic computer proficiency
    • Effective verbal and written communication in English
    • Cooperative team player attitude
  • Call: One Saturday per month

Additional Information

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Masking and Influenza Vaccination Policy:
    • Influenza vaccination required unless medically or religiously exempt
    • Exempt individuals must wear a mask or N95 respirator during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31) while on premises
  • Dress Code: Black scrubs
  • Reporting Time: 8:00 AM on first day
  • Parking: West side of building

This position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized inpatient rehab environment with advanced therapy technology and a supportive multidisciplinary team.
