Job Opportunity: RN - Trauma/Med Surg

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing individualized nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The role involves collaboration with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan and evaluate patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care across all phases: preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Plan and coordinate patient care, including assessment, education, triage, and nursing interventions.
• Adhere to legal regulations and organizational policies regarding patient health information.
• Manage care for patients with complex needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks according to state practice acts.
• Maintain productive working relationships within and outside the nursing unit.
• Promote a safe environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
• May float to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units within the facility.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in South Dakota.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience in Trauma and Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Must be able to work within the full scope of nursing practice and standards.
• Prior experience working with this healthcare system requires a minimum 6-month gap since last assignment.
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
