Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Job Details
- Approximately 6-8 cases per day
- 2 years of experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- No weekends or on-call required
- Block schedule Monday through Friday
- Locals accepted
- Work setting: Adult outpatient clinics and nuclear cardiology
- Experience with: GE systems, gastric emptying, bone scans, liver imaging, perfusion, ventilation, captopril, myocardial scans, and SPECT (Bone, Thyroid, and Cardiac imaging)
- Outpatient clinic environment
- EPIC charting system used
- Any color scrubs allowed
Required Licenses & Certifications
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- New Jersey state license
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check required within 30 days of start
- Must run all aliases for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and for every contract renewal
- New Jersey Department of Treasury Exclusions List check required within 30 days of start and for extensions
- Drug screen required within 30 days of start (10-panel minimum)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required (specific testing timelines apply)
- Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing mandatory prior to start
- Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Fit test questionnaire required within 48 hours of confirmation
- Various health immunizations and titers required (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap)
- Color blindness testing required if job tasks require color discrimination
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for all RNs and LPNs within 12 months of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for applicable units (e.g., ED, telemetry, critical care)
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication exams with remediation process in place
- Color blind testing within one year of start (if applicable)
Additional Certifications (As Applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required or preferred depending on unit
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required for pediatric units
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for NICU, L&D, Mother-Baby units
- CHEMO certification – required for adult and pediatric chemotherapy units
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs (online and in-person training required)
- NIH Stroke Certification – required for adult critical care and stroke center units
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment required
- Floating policy acknowledgment required for every new assignment or site transfer
- Vendor medical clearance form required for candidates with history of positive TB
- Various CEU (Continuing Education Units) requirements depending on specialty and role (e.g., Stroke, Trauma, Med Surg)
- Specific tech certifications required for allied health professionals (e.g., ARRT for Mammography Tech, NBRC for RRTs)
Documentation & History
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required
- Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start, allowing 30-day gaps)
- Skills checklist must be completed and updated annually
