    Job Opportunity: Surgical Services - Travel/Contract

    Job Description

    • Focus on gender affirming surgery and microsurgeries including:
      • Breast reconstructive surgeries (e.g., DIEP flaps)
      • Head and neck reconstructive surgeries
      • Major flaps and micro hand surgeries
    • Additional surgical areas include Plastics, ENT, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Urology Reconstructive surgery, Total joints
    • Position: Certified Scrub Tech

    Requirements

    • Certifications:
      • NBSTSA certification required
      • BLS (AHA) certification required
    • Experience:
      • Minimum 3 years of experience required in the specialty
    • Shift:
      • 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
      • Shift hours: 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM
      • No call, no weekends

    Background Checks & Compliance

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
      • Social Security trace with all aliases
      • County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
      • Nationwide sex offender search
      • Education verification (not required if highest education is high school)
      • FACIS Level 3 search within 2 weeks of start, then monthly updates
      • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated annually
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
    • TB screening: Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Immunizations required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B series or declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April)
    • Physical exam required within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test required within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually

    Licenses & Certifications Verification

    • State professional license verification required within 30 days of start
    • National certification verification (e.g., Tech Cert) required within 30 days of start
    • Additional certifications may be required depending on position (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CCRN, TNCC, NRP, CPI)
    • Competency exams as applicable (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG, etc.)

    Documentation & Orientation

    • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
      • Job description
      • Standards of business conduct
      • Code of conduct
      • Vendor training
      • Overpayment refund policy
      • Regulatory orientation for contracted workers
    • TB questionnaire required within 90 days of start, renewed annually

    • Work history verification required for up to 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
