Job Opportunity: RN PCU/Telemetry
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA only; AHA RQI acceptable)
- Recent Epic experience within the last year (must be included on resume)
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- Solid black scrubs required
- No block-scheduling requests accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at submission with a maximum of 7 days allowed
- Phone interview required; availability for days/time must be provided
Credentials & Documentation Required
Certifications (Required at Submission)
- BLS (AHA only)
- ACLS (AHA only)
- RN Submission Packet Checklist (completed and signed by candidate and agency)
Licenses (Required Before Start)
- Nursing license verification via state registry (Primary Source Verification)
- Nursys verification within 30 days of start
Health & Immunizations (Required Before Start)
- Fit Test (N95 mask, updated within 1 year)
- Pre-employment physical with statement of ability to perform essential job functions
- COVID-19 Vaccine (fully vaccinated; medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
- MMR (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B (titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine (required October-April; medical/religious exemptions require approval)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results; no declinations accepted
- Varicella (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Annual TB Questionnaire (completed, signed, and dated)
- Tdap within 10 years (optional)
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year
Testing & Competency (Required Before Start)
- Unit-specific competency exam (passing score required, updated annually)
- Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- EKG and Telemetry exams (passing score of 80% or higher, within 1 year)
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (updated annually)
Background & Screening (Required Before Start)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (updated annually and after breaks of 2+ months)
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search, SSN trace, nationwide, updated for breaks)
- OIG Search (updated for breaks of 2+ months)
- EPLS Search (updated for breaks of 2+ months)
- Education verification (third-party)
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card or number
Additional Notes
- Candidates with more than 7 days of RTO listed will be automatically rejected
- No block scheduling allowed
- Phone interviews are mandatory
- Must provide availability for scheduling during the interview process
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry nurses with recent Epic experience who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with a structured scheduling and onboarding process.
