Travel RN ICU Job Opportunity - Texas (Waco)

Position Details

  • Specialty: RN ICU

  • Unit Description:
    Conglomerate ICU unit including medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients. Ability to float between ICU and step-down critical care service lines is required.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience.

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Current RN license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • License/Certificate primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements).

Testing & Competency Requirements

  • Ascension Specialty Exam (passing score minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
  • NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score minimum 80%, updated as per latest edition)
  • Ascension Epic Test-Out (required)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency, updated annually)
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Positive PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)

Additional Requirements

  • Health Statement or physical exam completed prior to first assignment and updated annually
  • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
  • Employment Verification and Education Verification (within 90 days prior to start)
  • Professional References: At least two qualifying references required prior to first assignment
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation and Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding completed prior to start
