Description
Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable)
- Skills:
- Must have Epic experience within the last year
- Float required
- Uniform: Solid black scrubs required
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
Important Notes
- Return to Office (RTO) availability required at time of submission; maximum 7 days allowed
- No block schedules accepted
- Candidates exceeding 7 days of RTO will be rejected
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Licenses & Credentials
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Nursing license verification (Nursys and primary source verification within 30 days of start)
- Social Security Card or Social Security Number Confirmation
Exams & Competency
- Summa EKG Exam and Telemetry Exam (passing score 80%+, within 1 year)
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (updated annually)
- Summa Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, updated annually)
Health & Immunizations
- Fit Test for N95 masks (3M 1870+ N95, Medline Cone Small, 3M 1860 Reg & Small only)
- Pre-employment physical with health statement (within 1 year)
- COVID-19 Vaccine (fully vaccinated required; medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
- MMR (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B (titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine (required October-April; medical/religious exemptions with approval)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Annual TB Questionnaire (Summa form, completed and signed)
Drug Screening & Background Checks
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search, SSN trace, nationwide) within 90 days of start
- OIG Search within 90 days of start
- EPLS Search within 90 days of start

- Submission packet checklist required at submission
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit prior travel experience required
This position is ideal for experienced Medical/Surgical RNs with recent Epic system experience seeking a 12-week long-term assignment in Ohio.
