Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 3x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Dates: 2/15/2026 through 2/28/2026
Patient Ratios: Not specified
Floating: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Telemetry: Must be able to pass the telemetry test and have some experience monitoring telemetry patients

Experience & Certifications

Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- V Certification
Skills Required:
- IV starts
- General nursing skills including IVs, monitoring, labs, medication administration, patient education
Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required

Competencies & Exams

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required prior to start)
Unit-specific competency exams
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (with remediation process if failed)

Background & Compliance Requirements

7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
Various facility-specific compliance forms and training, including fraud, waste, and abuse training

Health & Immunization Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, or TB questionnaire if applicable
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low titer
Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

References & Documentation

Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
Employment application and skills checklist required

Additional Notes

Must complete fingerprinting with Ohio BCI & FBI using specific codes prior to start
Facility requires annual review and signing of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with telemetry monitoring, EPIC EMR, and flexible floating within hospital units.
