Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Responsible for identifying patient needs and priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in the Emergency Care setting.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • Ability to triage patients safely, rapidly, and accurately.
  • Coordinate care between professional disciplines as needed.
  • Must self-study telemetry strips and pass a basic dysrhythmia test during the first week of assignment to work in the Emergency Room.
  • Shift options: 1900 - 0730 or 1500 - 0330.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (American Heart Association only)
  • GRH CPI/MOAB (Crisis Prevention Intervention / Management of Aggressive Behavior)
  • Valid professional nursing license with primary source verification (BON & NURSYS for RNs)

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of GRH Skills Checklist within 12 months (does not expire)
  • BD Screening Attestation
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted)
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
  • Fit Test for approved respirators prior to start
  • Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
  • TB Test (negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive test)
  • Health Statement from a physician within the last 12 months
  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; declination accepted)
  • Background Check within 30 days of start (includes SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender)
  • Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
  • Education Verification through third party
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Two professional references (one must be from a supervisor)
  • Drug Screen within 30 days of start (10 panel, THC not required)
  • SING (within 30 days of start)
  • I9 Attestation (completed on agency letterhead)
  • Color Vision test
  • Contract Employee Data Sheet
  • NSO and OFAC checks within 30 days of start
  • OSHA Questionnaire (candidate completes)
  • Pre-Orientation CBL Acknowledgement
  • Influenza Vaccine (seasonal, Sept 1 – March 31; vaccine or facility declination accepted)
