Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour Night shifts
  • Schedule: Weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
  • Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
  • Floating: Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Documentation System: Familiarity with Epic system required

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/TELE)
  • Minimum 2 years experience specifically in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred (not required)

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care within the Progressive Care Unit
  • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program
  • State license verification within 30 days of start
  • Annual review and acknowledgment of facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
  • Required immunizations and health documents:
    • Tdap vaccine (adult dose)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
    • TB questionnaire
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption allowed)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required prior to start
  • Unit-specific competency exam required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (with remediation process if failed)

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Must complete annual orientation safety manual acknowledgment
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually

Notes

  • No Return to Office (RTO) from 2/15/26 through 2/28/26
  • Dynamic and challenging work environment with opportunity for professional growth
  • Facility requires strict adherence to fingerprinting and background check protocols, including specific fingerprinting codes and timelines
