    Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

    Location: Santa Cruz, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Perform routine and specialized radiation treatments independently according to physician-developed treatment plans.
    • Use sound judgment and clinical skills to deliver safe, precise, and timely procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
    • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety.
    • May perform specific procedures and orient new staff to the department.
    • Shift start times are flexible between 6 AM and 12 PM.

    Required Certifications

    • ARRT (Therapy)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • State License (Primary source verification required within 30 days of start)
    • Tech Certification (National) required within 30 days of start, as applicable
    • ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI certifications may be required depending on position (verify with recruiter)

    Required Experience & Skills

    • Must have experience with Elekta, Mosaiq, and AlignRT systems.
    • Years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years in Radiology/Cardiology or related field.
    • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.

    Background & Screening Requirements

    • 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable.
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
    • Employment history verification: Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days; verification required.
    • References: 2 professional references required for clinical/allied positions.

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear for work).
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
    • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titers or vaccination series with boosters as needed
      • Hepatitis B: Series or signed declination
      • Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
      • Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
    • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana).

    Competency Exams

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units.
    • Other competency exams as required by profession and unit.

    Facility-Specific Documents & Training

    • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
    • TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
    • Religious accommodation forms required if applicable for vaccine or PAPR exemptions.

    Additional Notes

    • Flexible shift start times between 6 AM and 12 PM.
    • Must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team.
    • Compliance with all background, health, and competency requirements is mandatory prior to start.
