Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist (MRI)

Job Description

• Perform routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures independently.
• Produce quality images for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease.
• Exercise sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise, and timely procedures.
• Gain patient and healthcare provider cooperation through competent assessment, monitoring, and communication.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety.
• May perform specific procedures and assist in orienting other staff to the department.

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
  • Venipuncture Licensure
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT Certification as MR Technologist
• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year inpatient hospital experience preferred
• Shift:

  • 3 shifts of 12 hours (07:45 - 20:15)
  • Friday: 10:00 - 10:30 (likely a short shift or overlap)
  • Weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday
• On-Call/Weekend Requirements: No on-call requirements

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and more.
• Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS Level 3 screenings.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test required within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required, including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
• COVID-19 vaccine religious exemption process available if applicable.

Documentation and Verification

• Must provide official transcripts/diplomas or verified education credentials.
• State license verification required within 30 days of start.
• Employment history verification for the last 7 years with no gaps over 30 days.
• Professional photo for badge required.
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, confidentiality agreement, and regulatory orientation prior to start.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• No on-call duties.
• Facility does not allow PAPR use onsite; fit testing is mandatory.
• Religious exemptions for mask fit and vaccines are handled on a case-by-case basis.
• Candidate must comply with all facility and system policies and complete all required training and documentation before starting.

This position is ideal for MRI technologists with at least 1 year of inpatient hospital experience who are certified and licensed, seeking a 13-week travel contract in California with no on-call responsibilities.
