Registered Nurse (RN) - Michigan, Owosso
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Deliver patient care through nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direction and guidance for patient teaching and ancillary personnel.
- Maintain professional nursing standards and comply with policies and operating instructions.
- Focus on superior performance contributing to patient and family experience.
- Be accessible, flexible, knowledgeable, and responsive as part of the healthcare team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assess physical, psychological, social, and educational needs of patients on admission; complete written assessment timely.
- Develop and initiate a written care plan within 24 hours of admission.
- Implement plan of care and document effectiveness; update plan at least every 24 hours.
- Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
- Promote patient independence through education on condition, medications, and self-care.
- Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve patient problems and needs.
- Follow infection-control policies, medication administration/storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Maintain continuity of care through documentation and communication with nursing teams and physicians.
- Use leadership skills to delegate, communicate with, and evaluate team members.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient status with appropriate interventions.
- Provide ongoing patient and family education based on daily assessments.
- Prioritize care based on individual patient needs.
- Initiate referrals for discharge planning in collaboration with case management.
- Participate in continuing education, unit/hospital committees, and staff meetings.
- Demonstrate patient safety practices and support hospital mission, policies, and standards.
- Provide age-appropriate care based on growth and development principles.
Required Qualifications
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2+ years ICU experience (highest required years of experience).
- Experience floating to PCU, Med Surg, and Telemetry units.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Current work history and skills checklist relevant to ICU (updated within 1 year).
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
- Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys verification).
Certifications

- Michigan (must be active)
