Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery (Travel)

Location: Carmel, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
  • Serve as primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.

  • Valid RN License with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Fit Test (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
  • Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years)
  • Specialty Exam (minimum 80% or national benchmark, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
  • Ascension Fetal Monitoring Certification (if fetal monitoring not covered on competency exam, AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted; if negative, two doses of MMR vaccine four weeks apart)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted but mask required)
  • Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • Two-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes
  • Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines or serological evidence of immunity (no declinations accepted; if negative, two doses four weeks apart)
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Annual health statement or physical exam

Background & Screening Requirements

  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks within 30 days of first assignment
  • Employment verification for the past seven years
  • Drug screen: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Education verification within 90 days prior to start
  • Resume/profile submission required
  • Professional references (at least two) prior to first assignment

Additional Requirements

  • Driver’s License/State ID matching home state for compact license holders
  • Color vision test prior to start and updated every 3 years
  • Completion of onboarding requirements and attestation prior to or at start
  • Skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually
  • Confirmation of assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and updates
