    Description

    Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist

    Location: Los Angeles, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Schedule & Shift

    • Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
    • Shift Hours: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of experience with PSG (Polysomnography) and home sleep study scoring
    • Certifications:
      • RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist)
      • RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
      • California State License
      • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
    • Flu vaccination mandatory (no declination or exemption allowed)
    • First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required)

    • EEG certification

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work under direct clinical supervision of the sleep medicine physician
    • Prepare and conduct sleep studies, including polysomnogram scoring
    • Manage home sleep study logistics, including setup and scoring of home sleep testing devices
    • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to meet patient-specific needs
    • Determine final testing parameters/procedures in collaboration with ordering physician or clinical director
    • Explain procedures and orient patients for sleep testing
    • Select and calibrate appropriate equipment; apply electrodes and sensors according to standards
    • Perform data acquisition and monitor study quality, identify and document artifacts
    • Document observations such as sleep stages, clinical events, and procedural changes
    • Provide patient education and instructions related to sleep testing

    Additional Requirements

    • Background checks including criminal history and education verification
    • Proof of highest medical degree (diploma or transcript)
    • Various certifications and competency exams may be required depending on role specifics
    • Fit mask test within 12 months (for clinical/allied candidates)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Drug testing within 1 year
    • Annual flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) with no exemptions allowed
    • Professional references: 2 required, including 1 supervisory reference
