• Specialty: Post Surgery (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: 24
• Call Requirements: No call
• Number of Openings: 1

Experience & Certifications

• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in Med/Surg (higher value between 1 and 2 years)
• Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit: 4th Floor Surgical
• Number of Beds: 18
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric (no pediatrics unless over Broselow chart)
• Equipment Used: Wound vacs, Chest tubes, Bipaps
• EHR System: Meditech

Skills & Requirements

• Must Have Skills:

  • IV and NG insertion
  • Critical thinking
  • Open communication
• Float Requirements: May float to any Med/Surg area within scope
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments:

  • Joint replacements
  • Colon resections
  • Mastectomy
  • Amputations
  • Nissen fundoplication
  • General surgery
