Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) - Night Shift

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift:

  • Night shift: 7pm - 7am on Friday and Saturday plus one additional weekday night
  • No call required
  • Flexibility is a must

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years in cardiac, vascular, and transplant nursing
• Minimum 1 year CVOR experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility

Note: Use the highest years of experience required across specialties (2+ years cardiac/vascular/transplant).

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
• Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM)

Charting System

• EPIC experience is required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
• Fingerprinting must be completed with specific Ohio codes and within 1 year of start
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap vaccine (adult dose)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required prior to start)
• Unit-specific competency exams
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
• Completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter
• Annual acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies
