Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Long Beach, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
• Work Schedule:

  • 4x10 hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Weekend requirement: Approximately 1 weekend per month (depending on department needs)
  • On-call requirement: 13.5 hours (5:00 PM – 6:30 AM), 6-7 call days per month including 1 weekend
• Floating: Not required
• Documentation System: Sensis/Syngo and Siemens X-ray
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Certifications Preferred:

  • ARRT
  • Fluoro Permit (Cardiovascular Technologists encouraged to apply)
• Time Off: Pre-approved time off at manager’s discretion; must be requested at submission

Required Credentials & Compliance

• Background Checks: Standard background check within 1 year, including 7-year search and nationwide checks
• Certifications:

  • BLS (required)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable (refer to qualification guidelines)
  • Tech Certification Verification (as applicable)
  • State License verification (primary source online verification required)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU and ER)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (required by profession)
  • Color Blind Testing (annual)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (for applicable units)
• Facility-Specific Training:

  • EPIC Education Modules (approx. 8 hours, must be completed by first in-person day)
  • YouLearn Modules (facility-assigned, must be completed by start or during orientation)
  • HIPAA Education Module (must be completed before EPIC modules)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (fit testing provided onsite except at certain locations)
• TDAP vaccine within last 10 years (declination allowed)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed for low/equivocal titer)
  • Varicella (declination allowed for low/equivocal titer)
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel due to California state restrictions)
• Seasonal flu vaccine required November 1 – April 30 (declination allowed)
• COVID vaccination record preferred

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required
• Employment application required
• Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• Annual internal evaluation if employed for 1 year or more
