Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 or 48 hour option)
• Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months of recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Licensure: Must have permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Holiday Work: Must work at least every other holiday
• Assessments:

  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation (passing score required)
• Other: PBDS Assessment waived

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM (monthly)
  • HHS/OIG (monthly)
  • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Education verification (required for all candidates)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates starting 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Drug testing: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
• References: Two references from employment within one year, from a manager or supervisor (co-worker references not accepted)
• Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams (unit-specific)
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication during orientation (not required for legacy candidates with less than 6 months gap between contracts)
• State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete all required online training modules prior to clearance to start. Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract; candidates can start with results pending but must complete prior to extension. Facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite.
• Candidates must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.

Summary

This is a night shift travel Registered Nurse position in Med/Surg Telemetry requiring at least 18 months of recent permanent experience in the specialty, Ohio licensure, and current BLS and ACLS certifications. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks. Candidates must meet extensive health, background, and competency requirements, complete mandatory training modules, and pass orientation assessments.
