Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Olympia Fields, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Unit: Family Birth Center
- Beds: 19
- Staff: 36 (Day and Night shifts all RNs with OB tech/CST support)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Patient Ratios: Acuity based, following IDPH guidelines
- EMR System: Epic
- Equipment: OBIX Electronic Fetal Monitor (EFM)
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery
- Minimum Experience: 2 years in Labor & Delivery nursing
- Certifications:
- Fetal Monitor Certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Must Have:
- Strong labor experience
- Preferred:
- Scrub experience
Typical Procedures & Responsibilities
- Care for labor and antenatal patients
- Fetal monitor interpretation
- Vaginal exams
- Knowledge of OB medications
- C-section experience
- Post-recovery and circulating duties
- Post-partum care
- Outpatient fetal monitor testing
