Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Respiratory Therapy
- Specialty Areas: ICU, Med Surg, ER, NICU
- Number of Beds: 160
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 5-6 staff minimum
- Night Shift: 4-4.5 staff minimum
- Patient Ratios: Standard RVU system (<65 RVUs)
- Shift Times: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, 6-week schedules, 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)
- Weekends: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Call Requirements: None
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials
- Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS required; NRP or some NICU skills preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy specialty
- Acute care experience in Med Surg, ER, and ICU settings
- Proficient in managing BiPAPs, ventilators, Heated High Flow units
- Experience assisting with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies
- Proficient in EMR charting (EPIC system)
- Ability to manage heavy patient loads and time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- NICU skills and experience
- Experience in ICU/CCU, NICU, and Emergency Care procedures
- Independent, self-motivated, and willing to assist with higher acuity patients
