Job Description

• Provide physical therapy services primarily in an outpatient setting.
• Plan and implement individualized treatment programs based on physical therapy principles and practices.
• Serve as a resource and provide structured educational opportunities within the hospital in your area of specialization.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 shifts of 8 hours each (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
• No floating or on-call duties.

Requirements

Licensure & Education

• Valid California Physical Therapy License.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Degree: B.S., B.A., M.A., M.S., or D.P.T.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in physical therapy (specialty).
• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience.

Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and other certifications may be required depending on position specifics (verify as needed).
• State license verification and professional license copies required.
• Additional certifications may be required based on job duties and facility policies.

Background Checks & Compliance

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
• Sex offender search within 90 days of start.
• FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
• Education verification and transcript/diploma verification as applicable.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
• Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days.
• References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client).

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work).
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
• Immunizations and/or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start.
• Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and annually.

Facility Specific Documents (must be reviewed/signed prior to start)

• Job description acknowledgment.
• Standards of Business Conduct.
• Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation.
• General Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers.
• Vendor Training and Code of Conduct (2024 and 2025 versions).
• Overpayment Refund Policy (2024 and 2025 versions).
• TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually.

• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
