Job Description
- Provide care to patients aged adolescent through geriatric receiving radiation therapy treatments.
- Must be familiar with the physical and geometric characteristics of radiation equipment and radioactive sources commonly used.
- Responsible for measuring and generating radiation dose distributions and calculations under the direction of an Oncologist and/or Medical Physicist.
- Required Certification: CMD (Certified Medical Dosimetrist)

- Transcript/Diploma verification as needed, especially for international education.
Licenses & Verifications
- State professional license copy required; primary source online verification within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days of start (if applicable).
- Tech certification verification required within 30 days of start (as applicable).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work).
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella titers or vaccinations
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% or Angoff score if higher
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam may be required for some units
Facility Specific Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign various facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Job description acknowledgment
- Standards of Business Conduct
- Confidentiality and HIPAA agreements
- Regulatory orientation
- Code of Conduct and Vendor Training (for contracts signed after 5/31/24 or 7/7/25)
- TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Religious exemption forms available for PAPR and certain vaccine requirements (approval required).
