Job Opportunity: Rad Tech - Radiology (Travel Position)
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Specialty: Radiologic Technologist (CT Tech)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours guaranteed weekly)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Float only if there is a call-in within the same department
- Dress Code: Black scrubs only
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- Registered with the ARRT in Radiography and CT
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of CT Tech experience in a hospital setting
- Must have X-ray experience
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program with completed clinical hours
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Licensure:
- State licensure may be required depending on state of practice
- Other:
- Requires minor nursing skills
- Must comply with flu vaccination requirements (November 1 - April 1) with no declinations accepted
Job Responsibilities
- Perform quality radiographic exams in an ER setting efficiently and with exceptional patient service
- Assist radiologist or performing physician with interventional, routine, portable, and emergency procedures
- Maintain sterile technique and sterile fields during procedures
- Obtain appropriate clinical history and informed consent when necessary
- Administer contrast materials correctly and timely
- Operate and maintain radiology equipment safely, including GE Revolution Ascend
- Follow radiation safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Collaborate with staff and physicians to ensure optimal patient care
- Train new staff and assist with department orientation as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in quality improvement programs
- Adapt to changes in patient condition and department needs, including schedule flexibility
- Work in ER, inpatient, and outpatient settings with a 1:1 patient ratio
Work Environment
- Facility uses EPIC EMR system
- Unit has 11 beds
- Patients include ER, inpatient, and outpatient populations
- Evening and night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
