Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Murray, Utah

Job Summary

• Perform radiographic mammography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic films for detecting breast tissue abnormalities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, using judgment, creativity, and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure proper patient identification and order verification; prepare patients for exams.
• Perform mammography exams following department protocols, including advanced procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages.
• Operate mammographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Use radiation protection measures to ensure safety and comply with ALARA program requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of new procedures and equipment.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage.
• Maintain records as required by JCAHO and the Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control.

Required Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated competency in patient positioning.
• Knowledgeable about breast self-examinations and able to provide patient education.
• Physical requirements include lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, speaking, standing, and walking.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience in Imaging or Mammography.

Additional Requirements

• A personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required for this assignment. Providers are encouraged to use an existing badge if available to maintain continuous exposure records.
