Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech

Location: Weston, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) from 1100 to 2230 with cardiac call responsibilities.
  • May assist with other surgical cases if no cardiac cases are available.
  • Cardiac call is required.
  • Strong Surgical Tech experience with emphasis on CVOR and Vascular cases is required.
  • Must have experience in Cardiac OR and be able to set up and start call cases.
  • Call requirements vary, approximately 6 minimum per month, potentially up to 10 if short staffed. Weekend calls are 24-hour shifts.
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities, is required.
  • Locals accepted at the same rate.
  • Pending licenses are NOT accepted.
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts.
  • Block scheduling is NOT accommodated.

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Surgical Services (CVOR Tech)
  • Required years of experience: 2 years preferred, minimum 18 months required.
  • Strong vascular and CVOR experience is mandatory.
  • Prior travel experience: NOT explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted.

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • National certification (NBSTSA and/or NCCT) preferred but not required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be relevant for similar units but not explicitly required here.
  • State license must be current and verified prior to start.
  • Pending licenses are NOT accepted.

Shift & Scheduling

  • Shift options to be discussed during interview.
  • Weekend work required; specifics discussed during interview.
  • On-call requirements vary and will be discussed during interview.

Facility Highlights

  • Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching hospital.
  • Total staffed beds: 230.
  • Charting system: EPIC.
  • Scrub color: Ceil Blue.
  • Free parking in unrestricted spaces.
  • Smoke-free facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10 panel drug screen including nicotine required).

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required.
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start.
  • Drug screen: Negative 10 panel plus nicotine within 1 year of start.
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start required.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
    • Flu seasonal vaccination (or approved medical/religious exemption).
    • COVID vaccination series or approved exemption.
    • TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella immunization or titers as per facility policy.
  • Two professional references within 2 years required.
  • Completion of online training modules prior to start is mandatory and time-sensitive.
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application.
