Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Fort Mohave, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

  • 52 medical/surgical beds
  • 12 acute rehabilitation beds
  • 12 intensive care beds
  • 8-bed labor, delivery, and post-partum unit
  • 16-bed emergency department (24/7)
  • Surgery department with 6 major ORs and 2 endoscopy suites
  • Advanced cardiac catheterization unit
  • Comprehensive diagnostic imaging including digital mammograms, PET-CTs, nuclear medicine
• Trauma Level 1, Well Baby Center

Position Details

• Department: OB/Gyn (Labor & Delivery)
• Number of Beds: 9
• Shift: Days
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend (Days on Sat/Sun, Nights on Fri/Sat)
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: None
• Patient Population: Labor, Post-Partum, Neonates
• Patient Ratios: Vary based on patient acuity
• Equipment Used: IV Pumps, Epidural Pumps, Fetal Monitoring equipment, Fetal Doppler, Syringe Pump
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Med Host + Centricity

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Specialty: Labor, Delivery
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery (highest required)
• Certifications Required:

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Stable
  • AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) Intermediate or Advanced
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Licensure: Registered Nurse License
• Must Have Skills/Experience:

  • Labor experience
  • Postpartum care
  • Well baby care
  • Stabilization of critical newborns for transfer
• Preferred Experience: Familiarity with Centricity EHR system

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• Term and late preterm indications including:

  • Gestational Hypertension
  • Gestational Diabetes

Work Environment & Culture

• Team-oriented, flexible schedule
• Experience with Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) units preferred
• Dress Code: Black scrubs required
