Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN Days)

Location: Lansing, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Schedule: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
  • Weekend Requirements: Yes, only for call coverage
  • On Call: Yes, 1 week at a time rotating with other CVT nurses (approximately every 6 weeks)
  • Floating: Yes, may float to other specialties if no CVT cases available

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Registered Nurse experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Required Certifications

  • Current Michigan RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association or RQI Certifications accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required as applicable
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - required for ER placements (may be applicable)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., ENPC for ER)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days of assignment start, including:
    • 7-year Social Security Number Trace
    • National Criminal History Search (7 years)
    • National Sex Offender Database Search
    • FACIS Level 3 Search
    • Education Verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Fingerprinting requirements apply only for certain locations, not required for this facility
  • Highest level of education verification required

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
  • Fit mask OSHA Respirator Form completed at least 1 week prior to start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire annually if continuously assigned
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity via vaccines or titers
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella immunity via vaccines or titers
  • 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start (medical marijuana cards or dilute screens not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Documentation and Other Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID required and must be current throughout assignment
  • Social Security Card required
  • E-Verify compliance required
  • Resume with 7-year work history and 2 references from previous employers
  • Skills checklist and unit-specific competency exams required
  • Facility-specific modules to be completed onsite or prior to start as applicable
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement required

This position offers a structured schedule with rotating call responsibilities and requires a solid background in cardiovascular nursing with appropriate certifications and compliance with health and background screening protocols. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
