Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse
• Shift: Day/Night rotating shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm)
• Shift rotation may be adjusted based on hospital operational needs
• Must work at least every other holiday
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate testing (passing scores required)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience (travel experience accepted)
• Prior travel experience is required (travel experience will suffice for recent experience requirement)

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
• Required certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Certifications must be current and renewed prior to start if expiring within 30 days
• Pass/fail ECG and medication testing required during orientation (not required for legacy candidates with less than 6 months gap between contracts)

Compliance & Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment
• Background checks required prior to start and must be updated annually
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates)
• Fit mask (N95) fit testing required within 12 months and updated annually
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Must complete facility-specific online training modules prior to start (typically takes multiple days)
• Must complete unit-specific competency exams annually
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area to assignment
• Two professional references required from employment within one year of start (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start

Notes

• Facility uses Qualivis – Lotus for submitting hours worked
• Candidates must comply with all facility policies and complete all required documentation and training before clearance to start
• Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months between contracts may have additional orientation or documentation requirements

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs with recent clinical and travel experience, who hold the necessary licensure and certifications, and are prepared to meet comprehensive health and compliance requirements.
