Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist Home Health

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their homes who have cognitive and/or physical impairments resulting from injury, disease, disability, or other causes. Patient age range is from birth to over 100 years. Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other allied health professionals to identify needs and coordinate services. Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources.


Qualifications

  • Specialty: Occupational Therapist Home Health
  • Required Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care, rehab, or homecare as an Occupational Therapist (highest required years of experience)
  • Licensure: Registered Occupational Therapist with the Board of Registration in Massachusetts
  • Ability to work with various computer software; knowledge of hand-held patient care devices preferred
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing situations
  • Travel required within the geographic area

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not explicitly required

Required Credentials and Compliance

  • Professional license verification (no conditional licenses accepted)
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check within 45 days of start
  • N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
  • Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
  • TB screening within 3 months of start (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
  • Physician health statement within 365 days of start, updated if >6 month break
  • Criminal background checks including CORI and national sex offender registry
  • Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, Medicaid exclusion lists
  • Resume including 7 years of work experience with city and state
  • References: 2 recent, minimum 1 supervisor or above in skillset
  • Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission
  • Education verification and SSN trace
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required

Preferred (Optional)

  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity proof
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years

Additional Notes

  • Must submit a professional badge photo (no selfies, no filters, plain background)
  • All documentation must be current and compliant with specified timelines
  • Travel within the geographic area of the home health provider is required
